Pathways of Hope

Pathways of Hope is a non-profit organization based in Fullerton and Anaheim, and serving all of North Orange County. They provide food, shelter, and housing services to hundreds of homeless and low-income members in the community. In 2017, Pathways of Hope offered help and hope to almost 7,000 of their neighbors in need. After 42 years of service to our community, Pathways continues to grow and expand, always adapting to the ever-changing landscape of hunger and homelessness in our community.
Through a partnership with California State University, Fullerton, Dr. Sara Johnson and her team at U-ACRE plants and tends a community garden for the benefit of Pathways families. This program has been at the Pathways Fullerton campus for the past two years and has made a difference in the nutrition of the children Pathways serves. Before entering the program, many families are purchasing food with low nutritional value or pre-made food since they do not have kitchens to prepare meals. From this garden, the kids in the transitional housing program are able to see where some of their food comes from and parents enjoy the opportunity for lifeskills classes to learn how to cook with fresh vegetables.
